Earthborn Details:

Yes, Earthborn 2010 will take place! We are working with the Canadian Clay and Glass Gallery Curator, Christian Bernard Singer, to mount a wonderful exhibition of our members' best work.

The juror will be Joni Moriyama. Joni is an Assistant Professor at OCAD, the Ontario College of Art and Design. She is a graduate of the Ontario College of Art and Alfred University. Her work is widely exhibited and represented in many Galleries and Collections. We are very fortunate to have her bring her expertise as, not only an artist, but also a teacher of art and ceramics, to jury our show. The critique is always an excellent, educational opportunity. One can learn so much.

The exhibition will open on Sunday, June 13, from 2-5 PM and continue until August. At 1 pm, there will be an Artist's Talk by Bruce Taylor whose opening of his exhibition at the C2G2 coincides with ours.

On Friday June 4 a pot luck and critique of members' work by Joni will take place at the C2G2. She will jury the pieces and select the show earlier that day. ALL MEMBERS are WELCOME to all the Earthborn events. Come and learn something new, socialize, and enjoy the fabulous food at the pot luck supper! See you there! Times for June 4 are yet to be confirmed with the Gallery.

You may submit up to 4 pieces at a cost of $5.00 each. The acceptance of submissions will most likely take place on Thursday June 3 at the C2G2 but the date, times and location need confirmation. All dates, times, exact locations and further information about the Standards for Submission and Sponsors' Awards will be in the May newsletter.

There is still time to make those special pieces! When getting ready for the Sale, set aside your best work to enter into Earthborn. This is an opportunity to support Earthborn, see your work exhibited in a Gallery setting, and benefit from an expert's comments!
