Vlodek Tydor

Vlodek Tydor has been working with clay since 1994.  His passion for the clay medium is revealed through his contemporary designs, which include a line of hand-built whimsical animal figurines being distributed to selected gift shops and art galleries across Canada.  In his spare time, Vlodek dabbles in the porcelain medium, constructing modern ornamental, and on occasion, functional pieces such as:  plates, sugar bowls, vessels, vases, etc.  All pieces are created in Wallenstein, Ontario in the studio he shares with his fellow-artist wife, Danuta Tydor, who is a clay artist herself.  The hand-built technique used, involves pinch, coil or slab and is applied to the delicate creations.

Vlodek’s artistic life is a journey that brings new challenges, which his inventive nature thrives on.  With his perception to detail reflected in his work, he has been honoured to have his work exhibited and awarded in ceramic competitions and one of his pieces published in Clay Times Magazine, in the 2008 July/August issue on page. 52
