Sodium Silicate Pottery Process
With Judy Dean
Spend a day with Judy Dean. Judy has been working in clay for over 50 years. Having graduated from Mohawk College in the late 70’s she has been able to develop a pottery palette that suites her passion in clay. She has had the opportunity to study with Gillian Lewis, John Prosser, Wayne Cardinalli, Donn Zver and more. Her choice of clay is PSH #552 and fires at cone 6 electric and raku.
Judy continues to explore through the application of sodium silicate and colour as well as different raku techniques such as Obvara firing. She believes in creating one-of-a-kind pottery. Come and explore for a day with Judy.
Morning session: throwing on the wheel. Afternoon session: talk about
glazing and other techniques, demonstration etc.
Bring clay, tools, brushes, a throwing stick or sponge on a stick, a hair dryer and your favourite underglaze or slip. Bring your lunch and something to share with others
