Bring your lunch and something to share as well as one piece of your finished pottery for Wayne tocritique.
Come out and spend a day with a Canadian master potter. Wayne has been making ceramic art full-time for over 50 years, ever since graduating from Temple University's Tyler School of Art with an MFA in ceramics. During this time, he has regularly taught ceramics at the Greenwich House Pottery and Clay Art Center, both in New York City, as well as Sir Sanford Flemming College, Koffer Centre for the Arts, Haliburton School of Art and the Dundas Valley School of Art. In addition, he has conducted over 150 workshops, lectures, demonstrations and critiques across Canada and the U.S.A.
The day will be split into two sections, in the morning there will be demonstrations on the wheel and after lunch hand building will be covered and the day will end with a critique on one of your finished pieces. Wayne will provide notebooks for each participant to write down critical questions and Ideas as he will cover numerous topics to assist you in brining your pottery to a new level. He will share not only his philosophy of being a ceramic artist but will share numerous tips, techniques, ideas, glaze recipes, decoration ideas etc. Hopefully you will gain inspiration from this master potter.
There are three critical questions Wayne may be able to assist you to answer in relationship to your pottery journey;
1. Who are you?
2. What do you have to say?
3. How to make a living without compromising.
