HOMEWORK TO PREPARE FOR CLASS TWO In the video Claire says it's the homework for the first class, but it's not! TIP: to figure out the right size to make your shapes, lay them on the paper plate or draw directly on it.
HOMEWORK TO PREPARE FOR CLASS THREE
TIP: Before class, make two identical patterns using the watercolour paper provided that measure 27.5 cm by 6.5 cm. These are for the walls of the bowl. You will need the bisque mold that looks like a small bowl for this class too.
HELPFUL ITEMS: a large yoghurt container (empty) or a small peanut butter jar (it's ok if it is empty or full) something to mark a circle that is 5 to 6 cm wide such as a circle cookie cutter, a small drinking glass or a jam jar

PREPARE YOUR DESIGN:
decide on a sgraffito design for your mug
draw it on paper and test that it is the right size by laying it on the mug pattern in your kit
trace the design onto the back of the paper by holding the paper on a window during daylight
trace the the lines on the back of the paper with the kid's maker that came in your kit (this will be a reverse image of your design)
cut the shape of your design in newspaper (this will be used as a transfer onto your mug)
BRING TO CLASS:
a large yoghurt tub that has newspaper wrapped around it (see the homework video)
something to cut a circle out of clay that is about 6 cm wide AND ANOTHER circle that is about 1 cm smaller (such as circle cookie cutters, small drinking glasses, etc.)
