Required materials:
-clay
-small towel
-scoring tool
-rib tool
-a finishing sponge
-knife for cutting clay
-wire tool
- bowl or cylinder as a mold
Description: This class is for all levels of experience and will help you gain confidence and skills to improve the quality of your handbuilt work. We will cover common problems, and how to avoid them. It will be hands on, but with lots of opportunity to ask questions such as:
-how do I make a cylinder that doesn’t warp into an oval shape
-how to I avoid cracking
-how do I build bigger/taller pieces
-what type of mold is right for me?
- how to I manage moisture or keep flat pieces flat
Each week we will go over 1 specific project and have time for Q/A where you can ask
any technical questions you like. I will do a demo and guide you along as you make
own version of the weeks project.
