Totem and/or Windchime Workshop with Monika Schaefer

Join Monika Schaefer in an exploration of forms and construction methods suitable for creating unique garden totems. Monika will show examples of some of her own totems and others; demonstrate techniques for making slab, coil and pinched shapes; and discuss best methods to assemble pieces into a totem suitable for a year-round feature outside, or indoor table-top display. As preparation for this workshop, please create a rough plan for your own totem. This will also be a hands-on workshop, where you will fine-tune your plan, with suggestions and recommendations from Monika, and you will begin to make pieces for your own totem.
