June Macdonald is an experienced Member Class teacher with excellent reviews from her students. The following is her course description:
Expand your throwing skills! We’ll start with cylinders and expand them into shapes for unique vases, pitchers or tumblers. Then make bowls with lovely round curves and interesting feet. Now you can combine those skills to make lidded vessels (garlic pot, honey jar, cookie jar, coin bank, etc). For our final project make a set, looking at how the pieces work together, the space in between and their relationship.
My goal is to make it fun and unleash your inhibitions about throwing on the wheel!
Requirements are proficiency with centering and ability to handle at least one pound of clay. Participants need to provide their own clay and tools. Note firing is not included, but the class may want to organize a firing and glazing to finish pieces before the holidays.
